Alan Olds
Alan Olds embarked on his martial arts journey in 1974, beginning with Shotokan karate.
He diligently trained in the traditional Japanese Martial art until 1977 where he began training in Tang Soo Do with a childhood friend. The passion that Alan found in Martial Arts as a child has never diminished to this day. In Tang Soo Do, Alan found a new challenge and a fresh perspective on martial arts. He embraced the dynamic kicks, fluid movements, and powerful strikes characteristic of the Korean martial art. When his instructors transitioned into the Chuck Norris System, Alan continued to excel, eventually attaining the rank of 6th Dan.

Alan Olds
The Chuck Norris System
His proficiency in the Chuck Norris System showcased not only his technical expertise but also his commitment to the principles of discipline, respect, and self-improvement that lie at the core of martial arts. GrandMaster Norris desired for all of his blackbelts to study as many styles of Martial Arts as they could and pursue a lifelong journey of learning.
Parallel to his journey in the Chuck Norris System
Alan pursued training in several arts over the years. Including Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Shotokan Karate, Tang Soo Do Karate, Boxing and Wrestling. Alan has focused on practical self-defense techniques and close-quarters combat. This has provided Alan with a comprehensive understanding of martial arts principles from different traditions.
His dedication and skill in Mi Yama Ryu Kempo Jujutsu earned him the prestigious rank of 8th Dan under Grandmaster Kenneth Winthrop. A testament to his mastery of the art. Outside of his martial arts pursuits, Alan also had a distinguished career as a law enforcement officer. His expertise in hand-to-hand combat, weapon retention, and tactical maneuvers made him a valuable asset to his department. Giving him the platform to train officers around the nation in defensive tactics.
Alan has suffered some physical disabilities from injuries sustained as a police officer which had affected his physical abilities.
But this has also given him the understanding how to help others overcome their own physical disabilities. And train in a safe manner to attain their goals. Even after retiring from active duty, Alan remained deeply involved in the martial arts community. He continued to share his knowledge and passion as a kickboxing fitness instructor, helping others achieve their fitness goals while instilling in them the values of discipline, perseverance, and self-improvement that he had embraced throughout his own martial arts journey. In 2022 he was inducted into the U.S.A. Martial Arts hall of fame as Multi disciplined master of the year.
Currently Alan is training and teaching Kapap Krav Maga under Kaiso Raven Cain through the lineage of Shihan Jacov Brestler and Grandmaster Sky Benson. Today, Alan Olds stands as a figure in the martial arts communities, embodying the principles of courage, integrity, and lifelong dedication. His journey serves as an inspiration to aspiring martial artists, reminding them that true mastery is not just about skill but also about character and commitment.
